Last week I finished the book, Open: An Autobiography , by tennis legend Andre Agassi. I'm a big fan of autobiographies. Mostly because you get to dive inside the human element of people who've achieved great things. This book didn't disappoint. It quickly moved up the list as one of the favorites I've read.
I wanted to share with you an excerpt from the book that we can all relate too. Agassi was speaking with his long time friend and trainer Gil Reyes. He was speaking on his dreams and just how fatiguing they had become.
“How beautiful to dream. But dreams, I tell Gil, in one of our quiet moments are so damned tiring.
I can't promise you that you won't be tired, he says. But please know this. There's a lot of good waiting for you on the other side of tired. Get yourself tired, Andre. That's where you're going to know yourself. On the other side of tired.”
Life is tiring. Doing anything well is tiring. Chasing a dream is exhausting. But all the good your looking for is right on the other side of tired.
